MAA AIKOJEN LOPUSSA
/ THE LAND AFTER TIME (PART 2)
2025The Land After Time exhibition is a continuation of my MFA degree work from 2024. The exhibition was held at Galleria Rajatila in Tampere in spring 2025.
The project behind the exhibition address to transformation by presenting imagined evolution of a distant future. The animals depicted in each work present one possible evolutionary path – speculative future specie that may emerge. The project draws inspiration from the history of scientific animal illustration, paleoart in particular. The exhibition featured two ceramic sculptures and a series of oil paintings.
The exhibition was accompanied by an essay titled "Pigmenttipölyä maailman reunamilta" by Alonzo Heino, PhD researcher and editor-in-chief. The essay is available via the link above.
Support for the exhbition was provided by the Finnish Art Society and the Paulo Foundation.Kielokuonokkaan symbioosi, 2025, oil on canvas, 160 x 125 cmThe Land After Time exhibitionThe Land After Time exhibitionPäivisin nukkuvat kukat, 2025 oil on canvas, 80 x 100 cmFotoni-imuri, 2025, oil on canvas, 61 x 45 cmKiljukaisen huuto, 2025, oil on canvas, 50 x 40 cmMaamureena / Earth moray, 2024, glazed ceramic and sheep’s woolThe Land After Time exhibitionSuuri laakso, 2025, oil on canvas, 40 x 45 cmKitakonnauros, 2025, glazed ceramic
